We’re all set for another unbelievable night of fights featuring the very best talent in our region! Be there to witness our stacked Main Card as well as another exciting amateur tournament in the 145lb division!
Below is a preview of the Main Card for Combat Games MMA 59:
Heavyweight Bout – Todd Ware (3-3 Amateur) vs. Joe Carmen (1-1 Amateur)
A highly-anticipated rematch between C3’s Todd Ware and West Coast Fight Team’s Joe Carman will kick off the Main Card at COGA 59. As amateurs, Ware and Carman fought valiantly at AX Fighting 44 back in 2014 with Ware defeating Carman by TKO in round three. Now the two will make their professional MMA debuts against one another with Carman looking for revenge. Every fight fan loves a good heavyweight scrap, and this bout looks to be just that.
Lightweight Bout – Edson Penado (1-1) vs. Chase Hooper (3-0 Amateur)
A Lightweight matchup between Quincy BJJ’s Edson Penado and Combat Sport & Fitness’ Chase Hooper will go down at the Snoqualmie Casino. This bout has many fans excited for the pro debut of “The Teenage Dream” Chase Hooper, who successfully defended his amateur lightweight bout and is now moving into the pro ranks. In his bout at COGA 58, Hooper had fans on their feet after an amazing comeback victory over Jorge Alcala. The Jeff Hougland prodigy will now take a major step up in competition against Penado, who is 1-1 inside the COGA cage and looks to bounce back from a loss to Chris Vasil at COGA 55.
Featherweight Bout – Eric Cronkhite (3-2) vs. Paul Njoku (6-3)
Since beginning his pro career with a three-fight win streak, Eric Cronkhite has lost his past two fights, but the road to redemption starts with his matchup against Paul Njoku. Known as “Kid Rush”, Cronkhite rushes to the finish in his bouts which gives him a “Kill of be killed” mentality in the cage. Not one of his 5 pro bouts have gone to decision. In Ivan Salaverry MMA’s Njoku you’ve got a great wrestler with knockout power in all four limbs. Njoku is 3-1 inside the COGA cage and hopes to make a statement against Cronkhite.
160lb Catchweight Bout – Charon Spain (14-26) vs. Justin Harrington (10-4)
A long-time member of the PNW’s regional MMA circuit, Charon “The Dreamcatcher” Spain will take on COGA 57 Main Event victor Justin “Ruckus” Harrington in the Co-Main Event of the evening. This bout will be for the number-one contender spot in the welterweight division. Charon Spain will likely aim to sink in another one of his trusty choke submissions in this bout, while fans can expect Harrington to keep this one on the feet. Either way, this is a unique clash of styles that will leave folks cheering with excitement.
Welterweight Title Bout – Justin Gardner (2-8) vs. Joey Pierotti (7-0)
Justin Gardner steps in to face COGA Welterweight Champion Joey “Mama’s Boy” Pierotti on less than a week’s notice in the Main Event at COGA 59. The Quincy BJJ product is a true go-getter unafraid to take any fight, anytime, anywhere. He prepares to face perhaps the hottest prospect in the Pacific Northwest region in Joey Pierotti. The one and only “Mama’s Boy” is back inside the COGA cage after demolishing his opponent at COGA 58 and defending his Welterweight belt for the second time. The late opponent switch is not on Pierotti’s mind at this point. Only victory. Expect fireworks from these two warriors.
